For the past 5 years, Dawn Elliott has been curating a space ‘a happy place’, initially as a franchisee offering sewing tuition and now as the proud owner of Create and Sew Studio. Nestled in the vibrant community of Chorley, we provide a nurturing environment where creativity and skill come together.

Owner of Create and Sew Studio
Dawn
Dawn Elliott, the founder of Create and Sew Studio, has always had a passion for creativity. Born in Fife, Scotland, Dawn moved to England with her family at the age of 15. After completing her studies in college and university, she settled in the North West of England with her husband and two children. Dawn's journey into sewing began with her mother and grandmother, who taught her to knit and inspired her love for handmade crafts.

Works part time whilst studying at uni. She helps with all sorts of tasks at the studio from
social media, planning, preparing customer orders and class handouts and anything Dawn needs help with.

Our Crochet tutor is a retired nurse who’s rediscovered her love of crochet and knitting.
Crafting gives Debbie a sense of calm and creativity, whether she is making blankets, cosy jumpers, or little baby items. Becoming a tutor is her new way of sharing warmth and care with others.

Our very talented soft furnishings tutor.
Jo used to have her own blind and curtain making business but now runs a hypnotherapy business - Metta Hypnotherapy. She loves sharing her knowledge and tips, giving you the skills to create professional furnishings for your home.

Loves all crafty things, starting with soft furnishings before discovering a passion for quilting—turning old dresses and shirts into beautiful keepsakes. After joining a quilting group and mastering various patterns and techniques. Now a proud Grandma, Jude will be your tutor for memory bears and quilting.

Karen is our dressmaking and seamstress tutor, bringing years of experience in bridal alterations, evening wear, and costume making. A proud Chorleian with a love for all things creative, she enjoys tailoring, pattern fitting, cardmaking and wirework jewellery. We’re delighted to have her as part of the studio team.
